We are being attacked!

Last 1st, 2nd and 3rd Oct 2008, about 48 BGA and SDNU members chartered a coach to Pontianak. ( You may visit britong for our pictures). We met up with Dewan Adat Dayak members for get-to-know session.
On 12 November I was shocked after being informed by SDNU Secretary General that Majelis Adat Dayak Nasional (MADN) would be coming to Kuching on 4 December 2008, that would be in three weeks time.
Our first 2-day-notice meeting was held on 14 November.
“We are being attacked”, was Dr Dusit’s first exclaimation. “Not only will there be 220 of them, but also CHARTERING a plane”, he continued.
Yes! The Kalimantan Dayaks are dead serious and united in Dayakism. On 4 December 162 Dayaks representing Kalimantan Timur, Kalimantan Tenggah and Kalimantan Selatan will charter a plane from Palangka Raya, capital of Kalimantan Tenggah, to Kuching. Another 50 or so will charter a bus from Pontianak. We expect about twenty Dayaks from Bengkayang and Sanggau Kapuas will drive to Kuching. The group, is headed by Bapak Agustin Teras Narang, the MADN president, who is also the Governor Of Kalimantan Tenggah.
On 5th Dec noon, they will charter Air Asia for Kota Kinabalu to meet up with Sabah Dayaks. On 6th noon they will fly back to Kuching and be hosted by a famous Dayak leader for dinner. They will return to Kalimantan on 7th Dec.
There will be a dialogue session between MADN and officials of various Dayak NGOs plus community leaders. Dinner cum cultural extravanganza will be in the evening. There will be cultural performances from all the four provinces of Kalimantan and various Dayak ethnic groups of Sarawak.
We expect about a thousand Dayaks will converge for the cultural extravanganza.
